Our Childcare – The NAEYC Experience

Walden Childcare & PreSchool is accredited by National Association for the Education of Young Children and a Member of the Houston Area Association for the Education of
Young Children.

NAEYC promotes high-quality early learning for all children, birth through age 8, by connecting practice, policy, and research. Together, we work to achieve a collective vision: that all young children thrive and learn in a society dedicated to ensuring they reach their full potential.

naeyc Accredited

The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) has set 10 standards for early childhood programs that can help families make the right choice when they are looking for a child care center, preschool, or kindergarten. The standards and criteria are also the foundation of the NAEYC Accreditation system for early childhood programs. To earn accreditation, programs must meet all 10 standards.

There are only eight accredited Preschools in the greater city of Houston with two of those being in Sugar Land. Our Childcare is proud to be one of those two in Sugar Land!

Barrie Beasley

Director

My name is Barrie Beasley and I am the director at Walden Childcare & PreSchool. I have my Associates in Early Childhood Education and Development and my Bachelors in Psychology. I have been working in early childhood education for over 15 years. I have experience working with infants, toddlers and teaching Preschool, PreK, and elementary age children. I am very passionate about education, especially in early childhood. I believe school should be a positive and supportive experience for all children.

Community Service Center

SEARCH’s House of Tiny Treasures (HTT) is a nationally accredited preschool program that provides developmentally focused early childhood education to children, aged 2 – 5 years, who have experienced homelessness. Nutritious meals, education, and intensive art, play, and speech therapy address students’ needs and prepare them to be successful in kindergarten and beyond.

It is our Christmas tradition for our families at Walden Childcare & PreSchool to donate gifts for these children. By investing in these at‐risk children, we are striving to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness.

We will keep our families updated as we hope to continue this tradition every year.

Testimonials

Walden daycare is a great place for someone who is looking for low ratios and NAEYC & TRS 4 star accreditation! The new team at Walden is efficient and definitely working hard to improve the school on a daily basis.

New Director, Talia is a breath of fresh air!! We came to Walden daycare in April and have been very impressed especially since the new director has come in. We have observed very positive changes including much healthier food options (very important for our family) further training for the classroom teachers, excellent curriculum, better communication between parent and daycare staff, and just an overall sense of more organization and direction. We feel confident every day dropping off our son, that he is taking care of, loved, and getting the education that he needs. Walden daycare truly is a hidden gem. Thank you all!!!

The Walden daycare Sugarland is a wonderful center. The director Talia has improved the flow and the curriculum. She is very knowledgeable about licensing. My children love it here.

My grandson, which is currently 13 weeks right now he has started to attend this daycare for the last month in the infant room. One of the things that caught my attention was the ratios, miss Talia the Director knows how to keep the ratio at a low number she always has extra consistent teachers in my grandson‘s classroom. I really love watching the teacher get excited to receive my grandbaby every morning. It truly warns my heart, and I really love our first experience.

Been enrolled with our son for two months now starting at 12 weeks old. We have never second guessed our decision to go there. Great place!

13 month update. Still no thoughts of going else where.. the staff here trully loves our son as if he was one of their own

Love this daycare my two boys have been going for the past 6mos and the management answers all of my questions without a hesitation. I feel at ease that my 13 month old and 4 year old have been well cared for and loved on

We love Walden daycare! Great experience!

My daughter has been attending this daycarefor about a 2 month now. At first my daughter was very timid and nervous starting a new daycare and never being in daycare before. As a first time parent of course the anxiety of her mom and I definitely kicked in, but Ms. Talia the director was very kind and welcoming from the beginning. She made this process very smooth and put our mind at ease. Our daughter has started in the 2 year old class and Ms. Charlesia has been very loving to our daughter who had a rough time in the beginning. The staff here are welcoming. This daycare gives you the feeling of “family”. Thank you all for loving and caring for my daughter.

My 3 year old loves going to Walden. Ever since the new management has taken over our experience of the daycare has been fantastic. I love how the class sizes are small and teachers pay personal attention to each and every child. I love how my son has gotten so fond of the daycare director Ms. Talia who has over 15 years of experience. I would definitely recommend this daycare to anyone who is looking for a NEAYC and Texas Rising Star accreditation daycare!

My kid has been the happiest he has.
The teachers are excellent and extremely professional. I have never seen a daycare as clean as this. Teachers are punctual and the management is overly great. I strongly recommend this to others.

I went here when I was little and I loved it, I wish I was still young enough to go back here but it was fun. I recommend going here.

My daughter was previously enrolled in another daycare and switching her to the Walden was one of the best decisions we could have made. We have seen so many big changes in her development, social skills and much more. We are so thankful for the Walden and if your thinking about making the switch, please do!!!

One of the best daycare in the area. Lovely staff as well!

The teachers are great and really care for the kids! My son loved going to Walden and loved his teachers! If you’re looking for a relaxed and nurturing place to send your child, I would recommend Walden for sure!

So far we have had an amazing experience and our girls love it here

We have loved the time our daughter has spent at the Walden School. It makes us smile every time we walk her in and each teacher calls out her name to say good morning. They are kind and care deeply for our daughter. Would highly recommend the Walden daycare!
